Peridot doesn't know Caroline Wilsonoff or care that she's gotten engaged to Chance Founder against Meadow's wishes, the fact that Uma wants her kept out of the sorority is all Peridot needs to know to want her to pledge, and joins Paisley in welcoming her. Caroline hates the position she's been put into, ever since she's been with Chance, everything she does now has some deeper implication, everyone she knows sees her as a chess piece in their own game. Everyone except her own Chance, and his cousin Paisley, who seems to be immune from her family's politics even when she's at the center of it. As they approach graduation, Peridot felt it was time to introduce Tracey to her parents. "I came to this college hoping to meet your father," Tracey admits to her for the first time, "I'm a huge fan."
Peridot rasises an eyebrow, "So now you're finally getting want you want from me?"
Tracey laughs, "Depending on how you look at it, I either already have what I wanted from you, or I'll never quite have it but will spend the rest of my life pursuing it. It has nothing to do with your father. I came here to meet him, and I endured being your sister's BFF in the hopes of meeting him, but once I met you, that became a side quest. But, yes, I am thrilled to be finally meeting the writer who has been the greatest influence on me. And I'm concerned that I might disgrace myself in front of you by acting like a squeeing fanboy."
"I promise to turn my head and not notice," Peridot laughs, "My father gets great reviews, but little face to face praise for his work. I couldn't fault you if you did squee for him, it would make him happy."
Tracey does make Peridot's father very happy, Kelly couldn't imagine a better mate for his eldest daughter.
