Chapter 70, Page 1

Sage wooed Heather on the baby issue until Heather finally caved in.

Getting Heather to agree to have a baby for Sage was one thing, getting the potential father lined up was another issue altogether. Their first choice was Aaron Garth, a close friend and lover of both women. Aaron, however, flatly refused to have anything to do with it, despite Sage's solemn promise that he'd bear no responsibility for the child after conception. "You say that now, Sage," Aaron answered, "but you won't have a say once this kid starts growing up, asking questions and trying to find her father. Why don't you try having a baby together?"

Hearther rolls her eyes, "Basic biology, it can't happen."

"Why don't you try asking the witch doctor on Twikkii Island? My ancestors are from Twikkii and they say there is powerful mojo there," Aaron suggests.

Sage sighs, "I don't think magic is going to be able to help us get a baby."

"Magic got you a boyfriend when you needed one, didn't it?" Aaron reminds Sage of how she asked the magic wishing well to get her a boyfriend and it did.

Sage winces at the memory, "Yeah, well, I'm not really sure now that that was real. I think I might have imagined that."

Aaron shakes his head sadly, "Magic is only real if you believe in it, Sage. If you stop believing, it will become imaginary."

Not ready to rely on magic, Sage tries to talk Chuck Zhang, the only other guy Heather has ever been with, into doing the deed.

"No way," Chuck gives an almost identical response to Aaron's, "I don't want some kid coming after me in a few years looking to get to know his daddy, okay?"
